Traffic Laws
Following Too Close

Georgia law 88-000 "forbids a motorist from following too close"  There are instances were a motorist hits the car in front and the police officer cites the driver with following too close.  The motorist that hits the vehicle in front is not always at fault - see Georgia Court of Appeals case 88-999.

The law-enforcement officer cannot write a ticket for following too close until a wreck occurs.  Therefor we need to add Section 88-1111 to the Traffic Code.  This section will forbid following closer than 2 seconds. The 2 seconds distance can be recorded by the camera in law-enforcement officers vehicle using the stripes separating the lanes.  The judge will be able to see the video.

Psychotic truck drivers follow too close in order to intimidate a driver to get out of their way so they can break the speed limit law.

Unmarked Patrol Cars.

1. Typical cars with hidden video cameras.  The driver of the unmarked
car will call for a marked care.
2. Typical cars with hidden video cameras and a sign that is flat on the      roof. The sign will be raised  to reveal "Georgia State Highway
    Patrol".

Ten Miles Per Hour Over the Speed Limit.

Abolish this law.  It is the Behavioral Science laboratory formula for creating neurotic behavior.  The government says this is the speed limit.  But,  the sign does not mean what it states.  Drivers learn that what they see as reality, is not reality.  The speed limit is 10 miles greater than what the regulatory signs states that the limit is.   The number posted is the speed limit enforced by some law enforcement officers, but it is not the limit for other officers.  It is all right for drivers to ignore some traffic control signs, but it is not all right to ignore other traffic control signs.  A traffic control sign is not always a traffic control sign.  The government is signaling the citizens that it is all right to exceed the posted speed limit.  Do you understand why speeding in such a problem?
