FOLLOWING TOO CLOSELY

Add to 68A-310, Georgia Uniform Rules of the Road.  "(e) Following too closely is also defined as being closer than two seconds."

Some speed-law-breaking drivers endanger speed-law-observing drivers by following too closely in order to get the speed-law-observing drivers to move out of the way.   Many truck drivers engage in this behavior.

Add to 68A-310, Georgia Uniform Rules of the Road.   "(f) A driver shall not move a vehicle in front of another vehicle until the rear of the forward vehicle is at least two seconds ahead of the following vehicle."

Many truck drivers violate this procedure.

A camera in an unmarked law enforcement vehicle will be able to record these behaviors.  The judge will be able to use the dashes of the lane-separator-line to verify the officer's two second count.
